Our Standards

Georgia Home Design is committed to providing accurate, practical, and research-backed information about organic pest control. Every piece of content on this site follows the editorial standards outlined below.

How Content Is Created

1. Garden-tested first. Every recipe and method is tested in real growing conditions before publication. We document results across at least two application cycles before recommending any approach.
2. Research-backed. We reference university extension publications (UC Davis, Oregon State, Cornell), OMRI-listed product data, and peer-reviewed entomology research. When making scientific claims, we cite or link to the original source.
3. Written by experienced gardeners. Our content is written by Sarah Chen, a Certified Master Gardener (UC Davis Extension) with over 12 years of organic gardening experience and IPM training.

How Content Is Reviewed

Before publication, all articles are reviewed for:

• Factual accuracy of concentrations, application rates, and safety information
• Completeness of safety warnings, especially for sensitive plant species and pet/child safety
• Clarity of instructions so that gardeners of all experience levels can follow them safely

How Content Is Updated

Articles include a "last updated" date in the header. We revisit content on a regular basis to:

• Update product recommendations and pricing
• Incorporate new research findings
• Address reader questions and feedback
• Verify that external links and references remain active

Product Recommendations

When we recommend specific products, our selection criteria are:

• Personal use. We only recommend products that have been used in our own gardens.
• Ingredient transparency. We prioritize products with clear ingredient labeling and OMRI listing for organic use.
• Value. We consider cost-per-use, not just sticker price.
